Privacy Policy

Before you publish: fill in every highlighted placeholder, and delete any section describing a tool you do not actually use. A privacy policy that lists tools you never installed is as non-compliant as one that hides tools you did.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller for this website (the “Site”) is [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [REGISTRATION / TAX ID], [FULL ADDRESS]. For any privacy question or request, contact [PRIVACY EMAIL].

This Site is an independent affiliate and editorial resource. It is not operated by, affiliated with or endorsed by Abbott Laboratories or Amazon.com, Inc.

2. The short version

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not ask you to create an account, and this Site does not process payments.
  • We use analytics to understand which pages are read, and affiliate tracking so a retailer can attribute a purchase to us.
  • When you click through to Amazon, you leave this Site and Amazon’s own privacy policy applies from that point.

3. What we collect

a) Information you give us

Only if you choose to send it — for example, if you write to us by email. That would typically be your name, your email address and whatever you put in the message. We use it solely to answer you.

b) Information collected automatically

Like most websites, ours records technical data when you visit: IP address (often truncated by our analytics provider), browser and device type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, time on page and approximate location derived from IP at city or country level.

c) Affiliate click data

When you click a link to a retailer, that retailer’s tracking parameters and cookies record that the visit came from us so a qualifying purchase can be attributed. We never receive your name, address, payment details or the contents of your order — only aggregate commission reports.

d) What we do not collect

We do not collect health data. This Site does not connect to the Lingo app, does not read glucose readings and has no access to any measurement from any device. Every chart on this Site is an illustration drawn by us, not real user data.

6. Who we share data with

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, and only as needed:

  • Hosting and CDN[e.g. Vercel, Cloudflare]
  • Analytics[e.g. Google Analytics 4]
  • Affiliate networks — Amazon Services LLC Associates Program [+ any other network]
  • Email[e.g. Google Workspace]
  • Authorities, when we are legally required to disclose

Some of these providers are based outside your country, including in the United States. Where that involves an international transfer, it is made under an appropriate safeguard such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

7. How long we keep it

  • Server and security logs: [e.g. 30 days]
  • Analytics data: [e.g. 14 months]
  • Email correspondence: [e.g. 24 months] after the last exchange
  • Cookies: for the lifetime stated in your browser’s cookie inspector, typically up to 24 months

After that, data is deleted or irreversibly anonymised, unless a longer period is required by law.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: access the data we hold about you; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to its processing; receive it in a portable format; withdraw consent at any time; and lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

If you are in the EU/UK (GDPR): the rights above apply, and your supervisory authority is the one for your country of residence.

If you are in Brazil (LGPD): you additionally have the right to confirm processing, to information about data sharing, and to be told the consequences of refusing consent. Our contact for these requests is [PRIVACY EMAIL].

If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know, delete, correct and opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information and we do not knowingly share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise any right, write to [PRIVACY EMAIL]. We reply within 30 days and may ask for information needed to verify who you are.

9. Children

The Site is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use HTTPS across the Site and apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the limited data we handle. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. External links

The Site links to third-party websites, including Amazon.com and the manufacturer’s site. Once you follow such a link, this policy no longer applies — read the privacy policy of the site you land on. In particular, purchases are made entirely on the retailer’s platform, under the retailer’s own terms and privacy policy.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The revised version is published on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site.
